100 million infected and more than 2 million lives have been claimed by the delayed response to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Communist Party of China (CPC) withheld necessary information about the origin and potency of the virus, causing most countries to implement prevention measures more than two months after the virus appeared in China. The world lost crucial time to prevent COVID-19.

A year ago the World Health Organization (WHO) admitted an error in its risk assessment of the new coronavirus and raised its risk level to high. However, neither the WHO nor the Chinese government has paid for its responsibility. On the contrary, in the second week of January 2021 the CCP celebrated the news of its economic growth and industrial robustness during 2020.

Despite the WHO’s liability, the Joe Biden Administration stated that the United States will again support this organization. The Trump Administration pulled out in 2020 arguing that the CCP pressured the WHO to “mislead the world” about COVID-19, according to BBC.

Why is the Chinese Communist Party responsible for COVID-19?

On December 30, 2019, Dr. Li Wenliang reported online the occurrence of atypical pneumonia in at least seven patients, but it was only on January 5, 2020 that the organization confirmed to the international community about “the existence of pneumonia, initial response, advice and WHO risk assessment.”

However, the CCP regime denied the statement by Wuhan medical staff and condemned Dr. Li Wenliang for upsetting the community with the presence of pneumonia that by January 14, 2020 the WHO had categorized as a virus that was not transmitted from person to person. The United States reported the first patient outside Asia on January 21, 2020.

In the meantime, the WHO relied heavily on reports issued by Beijing, which omitted the severity of the disease. For the first few weeks, the WHO downplayed the coronavirus, while China’s neighboring countries, such as Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, began to detect the first cases from Wuhan.

Since the virus was discovered, the CCP has provided late and erroneous information about COVID-19 and its origin. This has prevented a timely response from the international community to the pandemic without being condemned for the fact.

Some neighboring countries reacted as early as December 30th to the appearance of the virus. Taiwan initiated protocols on the same day and activated emergency channels on December 31st after no response from the WHO. The week of January 8, 2020, Thai authorities reported the first known case of a patient with COVID-19 abroad.

The West, on the other hand, began to deal with the pandemic when the virus was already causing thousands of deaths per day in Italy, the USA, Spain and the UK, two months after its appearance in China.

China has taken months to accept a scientific visit to the city of Wuhan. The entire WHO mission sent to China to investigate the origin of the virus consisted of a team of scientists; two were prevented from entering the territory.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the CCP has censored the messages of citizens on Chinese social networks and has persecuted journalists who have investigated the facts.

According to the press, citizens sent “Thousands of messages of public outrage” to Chinese social networks “asking if local governments were covering up another virus similar to the 2003 SARS.”

In turn, youtubers and journalists disappeared for publishing events happening in the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic. The BBC reported that journalists Chen Qiushi and Fang were last seen in February 2020, once they posted content on the social network YouTube.

In addition, lawyer and journalist Zhang Zhan was arrested and found guilty of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble,” the press reported. In May 2020, Zhang, 37, was sentenced by the Chinese regime to four years in prison for reporting on the consequences of COVID-19.

The strong distrust of Beijing caused countries such as Japan and Taiwan to react in time to the crisis. They did not wait for information from China or for WHO guidelines to respond to the coronavirus.

This distrust has extended to the procurement of vaccines to combat the virus. Taiwan, for example, announced that it will not purchase vaccines from Chinese laboratories due to China’s mishandling of information.

The press reported that China lied about the expiration of polio vaccines in 2019, leading to adverse effects, as well as of hepatitis B vaccines associated with a series of deaths in 2013.

Chinese Communist Party arms attack the West over COVID-19 vaccines

Global Times, a CCP-owned media and Beijing propaganda outlet, has published a series of attacks against the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and against the West after Chinese vaccines showed an effectiveness of 50%, much lower than those produced by American and European laboratories.

The editor of the media, Hu Xijin, assured that “no matter how safe and effective Pfizer’s vaccines are, one thing can be certain: developing countries will never get them in large quantities, while Chinese vaccines are the real global public good”.

The CCP launched a program to give developing countries access to vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The program goes hand in hand with COVAX, a WHO initiative to the same end.

However, Beijing has initiated a diplomatic campaign with the countries receiving the Chinese doses. “China wants to work with these countries and give them priority to receive the vaccine because this will facilitate the implementation of the Belt and Road plan,” Yanzhong Huang, senior global health researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations, told reporters.

In addition, Chinese health experts called on Norway and other countries to “suspend the use of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines produced by companies such as Pfizer” due to the uncertainties of the vaccines’ safety following the deaths of 23 elderly Norwegians who received it.

According to the Norwegian Medicines Agency (NOMA), it is not possible to conclude that the vaccine is the cause of those deaths; investigations are still ongoing. “It may be a coincidence, but we are not sure,” Steinar Madsen, medical director of NOMA, tells the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

Meanwhile, the media is reporting “the largest vaccination campaign in history”. According to Bloomberg, “more than 65 million doses of vaccine to combat COVID-19 have been administered in 56 countries. In the United States, more than 22 million doses have been administered.
