Forty percent of New Yorkers would support an impeachment of Governor Andrew Cuomo before his term expires in November 2022, a new Zogby poll claims.

“If it were possible, would you favor or oppose the impeachment of Governor Andrew Cuomo,” the poll asked 810 likely voters, reviews the New York Post.

Another 42% said they were opposed, and the rest were undecided.

Asked whether Cuomo, a Democrat who has been in office for a decade and said he would run for a fourth term, deserves re-election, only 41% of voters said he deserves another term, while 47% said it was time to elect someone new as governor, and the rest were undecided.

Cuomo leads upstate Republican Representative Elise Stefanik 49% to 37% among voters in a hypothetical matchup. The pro-Trump Congresswoman has called Cuomo the worst governor in America.

According to the pollster in a hypothetical Democratic primary for governor, Cuomo would defeat state Attorney General Letitia James 65 to 22%, and Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 67 to 24%.
