Fantastic news! Italy will be governed for the first time in history by a woman who won because of her talent and merits. Yes, the news should provoke the celebration of all the politically correct media in the world, but this has not been the case. Why? It turns out that Giorgia Meloni is right-wing.
Instead, the world’s mainstream press, such as CNN, the BBC, or The New York Times, is horrified by Meloni’s victory in Italy’s September 25th general election. Meloni, a 45-year-old journalist, is the leader of the Fratelli d’Italia party, which headed the coalition with which the right-wing contested the elections. And, with an overwhelming majority, the coalition won, which meant that a woman would preside over the government for the first time in Italy.
CNN, the BBC, and The New York Times called her “extreme right,” and some media even qualified her as a fascist or compared her to Mussolini. Pathetic. Giorgia Meloni and her party offer nothing more than traditional conservative, nationalist, and pro-Western ideas, which are fully in line with what the electorate wanted. Nothing out of this world. But the leftist press is afraid of everything that is not leftist and labels it as an enemy.
Giorgia Meloni is part of an essential advanced guard of conservatism in Europe. A few days ago, we saw it in Sweden on September 12th, when the conservative Sweden Democrats won the general elections. Spain, with the emergence of Vox, the Hungarian and Polish governments, and other parties gaining strength across the continent, are part of this phenomenon. Meloni’s triumph is good news. She was the candidate of businessmen, giving her an advantage for maneuvering. With her government, she will prove wrong those who painted her as a fascist ogre and will also prove that the extreme right is just a ghost invented by the left to justify its disasters.
