Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a new busload of illegal migrants to New York City as part of a campaign to bring the crisis facing the southern border to the attention of Democrats and Joe Biden.
Approximately 50 illegal migrants were sent to New York, a liberal city that has been advocating Biden’s policies.
The 1st bus of migrants has arrived in NYC.
Biden refuses to do his job, so Texas continues to take unprecedented action to secure our border.

This is not the first time Abbott has sent migrants to other Democratic-leaning cities to show the severity of the crisis and the inaction of the federal government. Washington has already received buses sent by the governor of Texas and for the same purpose.
“Because of President Biden’s continued refusal to acknowledge the crisis caused by his open border policies, the State of Texas has had to take unprecedented action to keep our communities safe”, Abbott said.
“New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city”, added the republican governor.
“I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief”, he stated.
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, who has defended the acceptance of immigrants entering the country illegally as a human rights issue, requested that the D.C. National Guard be activated indefinitely to help with what she called a “humanitarian crisis”.
DeSantis vigilant against the arrival of illegal migrants
As this is happening and after learning that many of the migrants claim that their main destination is Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis has warned them not to travel to his state.
DeSantis has warned illegal migrants not to go to Florida because in his state they are bound by the country’s immigration laws “even if our federal government and other states won’t”, the Executive Office of the Governor of Florida told Fox News in a statement.
As early as November 2021, the Governor of Florida had warned Biden that if he kept sending illegal migrants to his state he would return them to other states, or alternatively to Delaware, the President’s home state.
Record numbers of illegal migrants in the US
As time goes by, the border crisis worsens to the point where illegal migration figures are breaking historical records in the country.
Although the month of June registered a 14% decrease in detentions, the cumulative figure for the entire year marked a new high. In all, 207,416 migrant encounters were recorded in June, according to CBP, for a total of 1,746,119 detentions along the southern border since October 1, the most the agency has recorded for any fiscal year since 1960.
Four South Texas counties declared a state of “invasion” due to the arrival of undocumented migrants across the border; in response to this situation, Governor Greg Abbott authorized state security forces to apprehend and transport migrants to the Mexican border, assuming the powers of federal agents.
Although the federal government is responsible for enforcing immigration laws, for more than a year, Texas has patrolled the border with force to reduce illegal crossings.
Abbott’s move marked a significant expansion of the normal powers of the National Guard and state police, who until now were forced to turn migrants over to Border Patrol agents.
