The left really knows how to armor itself when it doesn’t want to have a debate. The technique of victimization, accusing the other of being a heartless villain, and instead of debating on a rational level moving into the field of emotions, is one of the great tools of today’s Progressives, and representative Ocasio-Cortez has made it clear that she is an expert in this.
I don’t bring out figures to debate whether subsidies to minorities are convenient or not, no, I rather accuse my counterpart of being a racist, and that’s it, I’ve already destroyed him. I don’t have to discuss whether feminist measures cause unemployment among women, I simply label chauvinist those who don’t agree with my “positive discrimination.” Why talk about data on how harmful it is to increase the minimum wage by law, if I can easily stop the debate by accusing my counterpart of not wanting the poor to earn a better wage.
They are experts in taking everything into the emotional and personal realm. They are experts at victimizing and making a villain out of anyone who dares to contradict them. And when they have made a mistake and want to stop the issue, they just have to invent that they are victims of some kind of violence or survivors of some macho/racist/homophobic attack.
Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is very clear about this technique and uses her story very well to victimize herself. You know, the girl who was a waitress, Latina, and now -as she recently said– survivor of a sexual assault and an attack in which she almost died.
Since the unfortunate assault on Capitol Hill on January 6th, the Democratic representative has said she thought she was going to die, claimed she had to hide in a bathroom and heard voices saying “Where is she?! Where is she?!” For AOC, as the Democrat is popularly known, it is clear that she was saved from being assassinated.
Since that day, after her countless tweets and statements saying she went through a “near-death” experience, celebrities and other Congressmen have come out to tell her she’s exaggerating.
Republican representative Nancy Mace, for example, said on her Twitter account that her office is two doors down from Ocasio-Cortez’s and that the insurgents “never broke into that hallway.” And then AOC trended when journalist and analyst Jack Posobiec explained on his social media, showing a map, that AOC’s office isn’t even on Capitol Hill.
But why does this even matter? What matters is what AOC felt, or rather, what she says she felt. Never mind that she wasn’t even on the scene.
Now, this Monday, it all came together, officially Ocasio-Cortez is the most oppressed of the oppressed, besides being Latina and a woman of humble origins, she survived a “sexual assault.” I don’t know if she actually lived through a sexual assault or if that’s what she felt but it never happened, just like with the Capitol Hill thing….
This week the representative did a live feed from her Instagram account where she talked about her “near-death” experience on January 6th on Capitol Hill – where she wasn’t – and suddenly, with her voice breaking, she started talking about surviving a sexual assault -of which she gave no details- and then, in a strange way, linking that to what happened on Capitol Hill and comparing one thing to the other.
AOC said those who tell her to move on from Capitol Hill and January 6th are using “the same tactics of the abusers.”
At this point there is no more valid interlocutor, she is simply going to compare anyone who questions her January 6th story to an abuser telling her to stop her exaggerations. This is nothing more than 100% victimization, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was never in real danger, but she keeps tweeting and making lies.
Ocasio-Cortez, continued in her “lie” saying:
“The reason I’m saying this and the reason I’m emotional right now is because these people telling us to move on, that it’s no big deal, that we should forget what happened, or even telling us to apologize, use the same tactics as abusers. And, um, I’m a survivor of sexual assault.”
She also stated that “if you experience any kind of trauma in your life, from small to large, these episodes can compound on each other.”
After saying this kind of thing anyone would be afraid to mention to her that she wasn’t even on Capitol Hill, if she said that the new trauma can compound her past, which is sexual assault!
I don’t know which of the things AOC says actually happened and which are her inventions, but the point is that it’s clear to me that even if it were true that she was sexually assaulted at some point, she’s taking it all personally, she’s playing the victim, and she’s comparing those who tell her to stop exaggerating to sexual abusers. What can this possibily have to do with the Capitol events? How do you compare people who say you need to move on and not to exaggerate to sexual abusers?
Nothing new under the sun. Victimization and accusing anyone who dissents of being an insensitive meanie. The left has done it again.
