‘A Twisted Lie’: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Responds to MSNBC for Article Calling Her a ‘White Supremacist’

Leer en Español

Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna responded Monday to an op-ed published by MSNBC in which the Republican Party is accused of “demonizing Mexicans” and accuses her of being linked to “white supremacists”.

“‘It’s important that we journalists avoid placing too much emphasis on a representative of Mexican descent who’s signed on to a political movement that began with the demonization of Mexicans,” the article said.

In addition, the author, Julio Ricardo Varela, described Luna as a Latino version of Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican congresswoman from Colorado. He also criticized her connection to Rep. Matt Gaetz.

He added, “She has ties to chief Kevin McCarthy opponent, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and has worked with what I consider to be a MAGA white supremacist cult: Turning Point USA.”

Anna Paulina Luna’s response

Luna responded to the comments and argued that the left-wing media focuses on her race and attacks her for being conservative. “Honestly I’m pretty sick of left leaning media focusing so much on my race. It’s sad to see how triggered the left is over the fact that I’m conservative,” Luna wrote on Twitter.
