If Kari Lake assumed that Katie Hobbs’ strategy was to hide until November, she now has the evidence to confirm this theory. The Democrat openly acknowledged that she has no intention of debating her opponent in a close Arizona gubernatorial race.

In a statement, Nicole DeMont, the current Secretary of State’s campaign manager, said, “unfortunately, debating a conspiracy theorist like Kari Lake – whose entire campaign platform is to cause enormous chaos and make Arizona the subject of national ridicule – would only lead to constant interruptions, pointless distractions, and childish name-calling.”

“Arizonans deserve so much better than Kari Lake, and that’s why we’re confident Katie Hobbs will be elected our next governor,” it added.

The Democrat openly acknowledged that she has no intention of debating her opponent in a close Arizona gubernatorial race.

According to The Center Square, this decision will make Hobbs the first Arizona gubernatorial candidate in decades to decline an invitation to debate her opponent at an event hosted by a state commission.

The rejection came after the Clean Citizen Elections Commission (CCEC) voted against Hobbs’ proposal, which called for an event in which the candidates would answer questions separately for 30 minutes each, with no interaction between them.

“We have a format that we have used for a number of years that has been successful, that has given the voters of Arizona the opportunity to compare and contrast the candidates face to face,” said Hobbs. “It’s incumbent on us to say enough. This is the format that we have set up.,” CCEC Chairman Mark Kimble said.

Of course, Lake was not quiet and came out to attack her November opponent.

Kari Lake and Katie Hobbs are neck and neck in the Arizona gubernatorial polls. While the most recent polls show the expert journalist just one point ahead, the Real Clear Politics average shows a dead heat between the two.
