Ashli Babbitt is the American woman who on Wednesday afternoon, January 6th, was shot and killed inside the Capitol after a mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed Congress in protest of the election results.
Babbitt, 35, a resident of San Diego, California, was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years and died convinced that the presidential election was stolen from Trump in favor of Biden.
According to her husband, Babbit was a strong supporter of Trump; in fact, she demonstrated this on Twitter with messages in favor of the president and her denunciations of alleged electoral fraud.
“Nothing will stop us (…) the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours… dark to light,” Babbit wrote on Twitter the day before the violent storm broke out in the Capitol.
The U.S. veteran, who was also described by her husband as a “patriot,” participated in the storming of the Capitol to prevent Biden’s imminent certification as the next president of the United States.
“I really don’t know why she decided to do this,” Babbitt’s mother-in-law told the local Fox affiliate in DC.
Early reports said a woman was shot in the chest and transported from the building just before 3 p.m., the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News.
The capital’s police chief confirmed that the shot was fired by a Capitol agent and that an investigation has been launched to clarify what happened. On the same day, three other people died in midst of the altercations.
What happened at the Capitol?
Violence erupted as legislators were in the process of certifying Electoral College votes won by President-elect Joe Biden. They were told to put on gas masks and barricade themselves inside as agents tried to restore order amid the chaos. Protesters broke glass doors and authorities drew their weapons to protect the building.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-California, told Fox News that he heard police open fire on the building. Also around the Capitol, three suspicious devices were found. It was unclear whether the items were explosives.
While Trump asked the protesters to remain peaceful and reiterated his claim of election fraud, Biden called the riots “an assault on the Republic.”
Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, called for the prosecution of protesters involved in the violence.”This is a sad day for America,” he said. “As a nation, we must do better than this.”

There was no ‘riot’.
People were let in to the Capitol. The violence was not from the actual protesters, it was from the Antifa and FBI shills that came deliberately to cause trouble.
Ashli Babbitt was the epitome of ‘peaceful protester’. Innocent, non-violent and killed by a cop simply for being there …
