Authorities reported that at least 13 people were injured after a shooting at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn, in the Sunset Park neighborhood of New York. The fire department also detailed that unexploded ordnance was found at the scene.
A police officer told the New York Times that they are searching for a man wearing a gas mask and an orange construction vest. The official explained that preliminary reports indicate that at least five people were shot.
“The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which operates the city’s subway, said no additional details were immediately available,” reviewed the NYT. Finally, the media highlighted that they requested information from a spokesman for Mayor Eric Adams, but refused to comment because the reports were still preliminary.
On social networks, photographs have been shared, showing the floor of the subway platform stained with blood and injured people.
