The White House encourages gender reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers and hormone therapy for transgender minors. This was shown in a series of documents released by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs.
It is a proposal called “Gender Affirming Care for Youth” and describes the various operations for sex change. “Gender-affirming medical and psychosocial health practices have been shown to produce lower rates of adverse mental health outcomes, increase self-esteem, and improve the overall quality of life for transgender and gender-diverse youth,” the office states.
The publication by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs coincides with a similar document promoted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
“Early care” for sex change
The network’s documents are more detailed than the department’s, and they highlight the same thought process and explanation for minors who receive alterations to their genitalia. “For transgender and non-binary children and adolescents, early gender affirming care is crucial to overall health and well-being.”
