Biden and Maduro, Birds of a Feather

[Leer en español]

Regardless the outcome of the election in America, one thing that will be true of the winner is that the Democrats and the Chavistas really are birds of the same feather. In case you even contemplate thinking that this is something new or unique with Nicolas Maduro endorsing Joe Biden, you are mistaken. The love story goes back many years.

Those of you that are old enough to remember Hugo Chavez’s attacks on George W. Bush or Fox News have to know that his attack on a “Republican” or a “Conservative-leaning” network is a pattern. Or even earlier, his relationship, with former president Jimmy Carter.  Let’s not forget that it was Carter that declared the 2004 Chavez election saying it was free and fair and therefore legitimate. Their relationship was one of a deep friendship that would be baffling if it weren’t for the fact that both men are ideologically similar.  They both practice the same form of politics, which is demonizing “the rich” and promising “the poor” equality.

Biden’s political party also has a long history of players that were enamored by Hugo Chavez.  I can’t think of a single Republican personality that did. Let’s begin with Sean Penn, the Hollywood actor that was seen time and time again in Venezuela campaigning for Chavez. What about Kevin Spacey, Tim Robbins, Noam Chomsky, Jesse Jackson, Oliver Stone? And let’s not forget what he did for Danny Glover. He pledged a large chunk of change, 18 million dollars, to be exact for a movie project that Glover was set to produce but apparently didn’t because of a dispute. Not for lack of trying by Chavez.

As you can see, the ties of the Democratic Party and the Venezuelan socialists go back years and are very deep.  This is why Nicolas Maduro and the Socialist Party of Venezuela have come out on an all-out campaign against Donald J. Trump and for Joe Biden. Twitter messages from the Socialist Party of Venezuela say things like if you vote for Joe Biden you are voting for a defense of life and the homeland.  How ridiculous and yet, so predictable.

Of course, the Biden/Harris campaign doesn’t want you to think that they are indeed birds of a feather. They have gone out, to Florida especially, and vehemently stated that they are not socialist. This is such similar rhetoric to what many people saw in Cuba and Venezuela. We have heard these very words come out of other socialists before.  Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez many times when interviewed denied their ties to socialism or communism. This is quite common when a party or candidate who is on the left ideologically and whose main platform is to redistribute wealth, that they deny being socialists. If they told the truth of what they really stood for, they would more than likely not get elected.  The only thing Bernie Sanders did wrong, is he admitted his intent. This doesn’t mean that Kamala Harris or Joe Biden don’t subscribe to it, it just means they want to get elected and then implement their socialist policies.

So what would a Biden win mean for Maduro or Castro? According to Ernesto Londoño, from The New York Times, Biden wouldn’t act as a “bully” but would rather work through more persuasion than imposition. He went on to say that the US would once again retire the Monroe Doctrine and end our sphere of influence in the Americas. Another thing that Biden would do, is have direct contact and negotiations with Nicolas Maduro himself and forgo giving Juan Guaidó any importance or relevance. He would establish negotiations with Maduro to, wait for it… commit to holding a fair election. Another very predictable policy coming from a Biden White House would be a return to opening up restriction travel to Cuba as well as establishing a new friendship with the country. Venezuela and Cuba would be worse off since there would be no political or economic pressure for the tyrant Raul Castro or Nicolas Maduro the current Venezuelan Narco-Marxist-Socialist dictator of Venezuela.

In English, there’s an expression that says birds of a feather flock together. It simply means that people who are alike tend to do things together. This is why it is no surprise that Nicolas Maduro has endorsed Joe Biden. Not only do they think alike, but one’s actions benefit the others. Nicolas Maduro will be able to carry on as before. He will incarcerate anyone who defies him and continue to loot the treasury. He will continue to engage with Iran, China, and Russia and make plans to possibly help destroy the US. In the meantime, the Venezuelan people will continue to starve and suffer. Donald Trump was not given much of a chance to save Venezuela because Biden’s party wanted to impeach him for something he himself was guilty of.

If President Trump is given the chance to continue in the White House, mark my words, the Maduro regime will come to an end.

  1. I just can’t imagine living growing up in a country like America and having it follow in the same footsteps as Cuba and Venezuela. Especially having it all spelled out in history. God help us.
