President Joe Biden lashed out Wednesday at a journalist who inquired about his meeting with Putin. The journalist asked him why he was “sure” that Putin would change his behavior towards the U.S.

Biden, who at the time was leaving the press conference, in which he assured that he was committed to the release of the Americans imprisoned in Russia, said, as he turned back to the journalists, “I’m not sure he will change his behavior.”

Meanwhile, CNN correspondent Kaitlan Collins tried to continue asking questions, but the president raised a finger and maintained that he had not said he had confidence in his Russian counterpart: “Let’s clear this up. I said that what will change his behavior is if the rest of the world reacts and lessens his foot in the world. I’m not sure of anything. I’m just stating a fact.”

However, the journalist continued with her question, “But given that his past behavior has not changed, and at that press conference, after sitting with you for several hours, Putin denied any involvement in cyberattacks, downplayed human rights abuses, even refused to talk about Alexei Navalny. So how does that relate to a constructive meeting?”

At Collins’ insistence to get an answer, Biden only said, “If you don’t understand that, you’re in the wrong business,” and walked away without further explanation.
