Although there is still a judicial dispute over the results of the U.S. elections, Joe Biden has already announced his communications team, which will be led by Kate Bedinfield, Jen Psaki and five other women who were part of the Barack Obama Administration.

Bedingfield was Biden’s communications director when he was vice president, while Psaki was White House communications director and spokeswoman at the State Department. Both, like most of Biden’s handpicked officials, worked for the Barack Obama Presidency.

Communicating directly and truthfully with the American people is one of the most important duties of a president, and this team will be entrusted with the enormous responsibility of connecting the American people to the White House,” Biden said in a statement.

“These skilled and experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to better rebuilding this country,” he added.

Kate Bedingfield, who also served as communications director for the Biden-Harris campaign, thanked the Democrat for her appointment: “I will also be honored to work alongside the incredible women who are taking on these roles together,” she wrote on Twitter.

Pili Tobar, who served as deputy director of America’s Voice, an immigration reform advocacy group, will be her deputy. Ashley Etienne, who was director of communications for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was named director of communications for Kamala Harris.

In addition, Symone Sanders, who worked for Senator Bernie Sanders during his campaign to become the Democratic nominee, will serve as an advisor and senior spokesperson to the Vice President.

Karine Jean-Pierre, who worked for NBC and MSNBC as a political analyst, will serve as Psaki’s assistant secretary.
