Biden Plays Despotism by Undermining Americans’ Individual Freedoms

Words matter.

Last week, President Joe Biden made two statements that, had they been made by another president, would surely have caused all international organizations and neighboring governments to issue statements of rejection, and the media empire to broadcast the same discourse over and over again to exhaustion, discussing how democracy has been lost and fascism is growing with the current American government. However, Biden’s words, despite their crude authoritarian character, went completely unnoticed by most of the population and did not find any rejection from the international community or any NGO.

“The struggle is no longer just who gets to vote, or making it easier for eligible people to vote. It’s who gets to count the vote and whether your vote counts at all,” the U.S. president said openly, implying that Democrats should focus on controlling the electoral count.

Let’s be sensible, can you imagine the “orange man bad,” as the liberal media liked to call Donald Trump, telling his base to stop focusing on getting votes because the new fight was to control the counting system in the elections? What would have happened? Surely we would have known about a third Impeachment attempt and we would have seen the entire media conglomerate and international organizations rejecting the Republican’s “authoritarian drift,” but with Biden, nothing of the sort happened.

What are individual freedoms?

In another unfortunate speech, the President of the United States downplayed the importance of individual freedoms, in fact, he questioned without irony what was the problem of violating citizens’ liberties in the name of “patriotism.”

“And so everybody talks about freedoms, and not to have a shot, or a test, well guess what, how about patriotism? How about making sure you’re vaccinated so you do not spread the disease to anybody else? What about that? What’s the big deal?” the president questioned.

Not only does Biden’s despotic attitude irredeemably betray the foundations upon which the United States of America was founded, but he also uses false data to try to impose his authoritarian mandates. Science has now proven that vaccinated people are also capable of transmitting and catching Covid-19, one reason — among many others — why some have chosen not to vaccinate.

The truth is that the pandemic issue has been extremely politicized. When Donald Trump was still in office, it was Joe Biden himself along with other Democratic politicians, such as former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and VP Kamala Harris, who called for not trusting any vaccine delivered by the federal government, then headed by the Republican.

In addition to this, the contradictions of the agencies that regulate the health of Americans have also provoked justified questioning and doubts on the part of the public; when Biden assumed the presidency he said that after a good percentage of the population had been vaccinated, everyone could return to normality, however, this principle was twisted. Soon they began to request a second dose, a third, and even to return to the use of masks, among other restrictive measures. This has generated disbelief among people about the supposed control that the Government would have over the pandemic.

Regardless of how effective the vaccines are, no government should have the power to force citizens to inject substances into their bodies that they do not want. But, to further elaborate, if we are talking about the “common good,” aren’t people who are vaccinated protected? Why should someone who is vaccinated be afraid of people who have not been inoculated if they are already immunized?

It seems that it is the same Democratic Party that questions the efficacy of vaccines because, despite the fact that more than 60% of the population is immunized, they continue to encourage further restrictions and booster doses.

Wasn’t it that the pandemic would end with the appearance of vaccines?

A Democratic Party that gets used to despotism

Unfortunately, Biden’s despot statements are not an isolated occurrence in the blue party. The constant calls to try to manipulate the electoral circuits and modify the rules of the game in order to get their political projects ahead have become a habit.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), in statements that directly attack the U.S. Constitution, called for “cracking down” the Senate because the GOP and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) have refused to approve Biden’s “Build Back Better,” a plan that, among other things, would bury the already battered American economy, even more, adding more debt — and emissions — to a country that has inflationary pressure at a 40-year high.

This means that when the Democrats fail to achieve their political goals, instead of appealing to their voters, trying to get more votes and seats in Congress to execute their agenda, they will try to change the rules of the game, tear the system apart and manhandle it to suit their purposes.

These latest statements by members of the blue party are not what we would see in a healthy democracy. Unfortunately, political extremism has taken over Washington and if we do not bring sanity back to the Capitol and the White House, the Republic could be lost forever, and with it, the great nation that led the world in the last centuries.
