President Joe Biden got into a major controversy after an open microphone picked up a strong insult on his part against Fox News’ Peter Doocy.

The conservative network’s reporter asked the president if he thought “inflation is a political liability in the midterms,” to which Biden responded sarcastically and visibly annoyed, “It’s a great asset — more inflation… What a stupid son of a b*tch.”

Immediately, the clip went viral on social media. According to Townhall, “The White House’s live-stream cut the feed before” the moment of the insult.

Peter Doocy jokes, “No one has fact checked him”

After the Biden video went viral, Peter Doocy joked about it in an interview that Fox News itself conducted with him. The reporter said that he only found out about the insult after several of his colleagues asked him if he had heard what the president had said.

Immediately, Fox anchor Jesse Watters jokingly told his colleague, “Doocy, I think the president’s right — you are a stupid SOB!”

Doocy, following the joke, replied, “Yeah, no one has fact checked him and said it’s not true.”

In the wake of Biden’s insult, conservative media recalled a phrase of the Democrat in January 2020, where the president spoke of respect for others: “But I’m not joking when I say this, if you are ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot.”

This is not Joe Biden’s first run-in with the media and with some reporters in particular. In June 2021, the president “scolded” a CNN reporter who had asked him about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the time, the Democrat apologized for his response to the reporter.
