President Biden assured that Israel has a right to defend itself against Hamas attacks. The statements were made during a press conference in which he was asked about the situation in the Middle East.
He also indicated that members of his government are in contact with their counterparts in the Middle East. He also said he hoped it would be resolved soon.
“Israel has the right to defend itself when you have thousands of rockets flying towards your territory”, said the president.

Biden’s statements come after Secretary of State Antony Blinken reported on a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the dialogue, Blinken expressed U.S. support for Israel.
“The secretary expressed concern about the spate of rocket attacks against Israel, his condolences for the lives lost as a result, and the United States’ strong support for Israel’s right to defend itself,” the State Department explained in a statement.
