President Joe Biden vowed Tuesday that he will take action this week against those responsible for the crackdown on protests in Iran.
In a message on Twitter, Biden thus confirmed that he will comply with the warning he issued on Monday to impose “further costs” on the perpetrators of violence against “peaceful protesters” in Iran, after Washington recently sanctioned the Islamic Republic.
“This week, the United States will be imposing further costs on perpetrators of violence against peaceful protesters,” Biden said this week via social media in which he repeated the words he said in a statement yesterday, when he stressed that the United States “stands with Iranian women and all citizens of Iran who are inspiring the world with their bravery,”
“We will continue (…) supporting the rights of Iranians to protest freely,” the U.S. leader concluded.
