An ABC poll released on December 12 revealed that a majority of Americans disapprove of Joe Biden’s way of governing, especially in economic matters as 69% disapprove of how the Democratic administration is handling inflation. The majority of both Republicans (94%) and Democrats (54%) disapprove of Biden’s management. Similarly, 71% of independent voters also disapprove of him according to the poll.
The survey reveals that concerns about inflation have eclipsed concerns about the coronavirus pandemic; and regarding the economic recovery, 57% said they disapprove of Biden’s performance so far.
Regarding the handling of COVID-19, a slim majority (51%) of Americans favor Biden on the mandatory vaccine mandate; while 51% disapprove of the handling of climate change and another 55% disapprove of the way the president is handling relations with Russia.
The ABC News-Ipsos poll was conducted Dec. 10-11 with a random sample of 524 adults. The poll results have a margin of error of 5 percentage points.
The low ratings have led to a new low in Biden’s overall approval rating, which according to FiveThirtyEight stands at 43%.
