So far in his term, the Biden administration has released more than 600,000 illegal immigrants in the United States pending their self-petitioning in court to regularize their status.

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News that Biden’s catch-and-release policy is what is attracting the thousands of illegal migrants to travel to the United States.

The Biden administration has not officially issued the total number of illegal immigrants released, but they claim that they are releasing “those who qualify.”

The information comes days after more than 14,000 migrants, most of them Haitians, camped under the Del Rio International Bridge awaiting detention; a situation that shows the migration crisis faced at the southern border.

“The Biden administration has claimed that these Haitian migrants in Del Rio will be sent back, and they should not come because the border is closed & their journey won’t succeed. The reality is they’re releasing these migrants into the US on a large scale. Catch and release,” reported journalist Bill Melugin through his social networks.

Despite the Biden administration saying that the thousands of migrants in the camp faced immediate expulsion, officials speaking anonymously told the AP news agency that thousands are being released in the United States.

“Haitians have been freed on a “very, very large scale” in recent days, according to one U.S. official who put the figure in the thousands,” the AP report said.

The Department of Homeland Security has been transporting Haitians from Del Rio to El Paso, Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley along the Texas border, and this week added flights to Tucson, Arizona, where they are processed by the Border Patrol at those locations.

The news agency recorded the story of Mackenson Veillard, who was released along with his pregnant wife.

“Three hours after leaving the makeshift camp under the International Bridge with his pregnant wife, Mackenson Veillard stood outside a gas station in Del Rio, Texas waiting on a Greyhound Bus to take the couple to a cousin who is living in San Antonio. Veillard was one of many to be processed and released on Monday, possibly because his wife is expecting their first child in two months,” AP notes.

Veillard’s story contradicts statements by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who traveled to Del Rio to promise that anyone who enters the United States illegally will be deported.

“If you come to the United States illegally, you will be returned, your journey will not succeed, and you will be endangering your life and your family’s life,” he said at a press conference.

The releases come amid a rapid effort to empty the camp under a bridge that, by some estimates, housed more than 14,000 people over the weekend.

Authorities overwhelmed by massive arrival of illegal migrants

A Fox News report revealed that overwhelmed immigration agencies are releasing “numerous” migrants not only in southern cities, but in the interior of the country.

“U.S. government-contracted planes transport migrants from the border and into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field offices around the country. These migrants are often later released from these destinations,” the report notes.

“So basically all we’re doing is we’re catching them at the border, shipping them into the interior, releasing them and getting more and then releasing them and then getting more and releasing them.,” said former ICE Buffalo field office director Tom Feeley.

An ICE spokesman confirmed the information: “Over the past several weeks, ICE has released numerous immigrants who transferred from the border after determining they could safely be released into the community under alternate forms of supervision,” he told Fox News.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that there were 208,887 migrant apprehensions in August, a 317 % increase over the same period in 2020.
