Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly “secretly” transporting unaccompanied migrant children to Tennessee and then taking them to other cities.

According to 3WRCB the minors arrived in Chattanooga late night flights. In the midst of this situation, Tennessee state legislators are asking for explanations.

“Chattanooga’s Wilson Air Center is receiving planes carrying migrant children who are being bused to multiple southeastern cities during overnight hours,” the news outlet noted. It further reports that the buses have been headed to Miami in the state of Florida, and Dallas in Texas.

These cities are also joined by Chicago, as according to a report by the Chicago Tribune, it reveals that shelters in that locality “see the largest number of young migrants who crossed the border with Mexico in search of asylum since 2014.”

“Since December, nearly 500 children have been placed in foster care in Chicago-area shelters, most of them from countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras,” the report notes.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told 3WRCB that the flights were facilitated by HHS.

Senator Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, told Fox News that the transport of migrants is taking place in “the dead of night without the knowledge or permission of the communities involved.”

Bill Hagerty, R-Tennessee, denounced that “every city is now a border town”.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee led approximately 20 other Republican governors in sending a letter to the Biden administration calling for action on the southern border, noting that the immigration crisis was spreading to many states across the country.

“The Biden administration refuses to secure the border and instead is scattering unaccompanied children across the country with no regard for the consequences,” Lee told Fox News.

“When we push back and demand answers, they cut off transparency and embolden one of the worst human trafficking crises we’ve seen at our border in the last 20 years,” he sentenced.

The number of unaccompanied minors was 19,960 children found in March and 17,171 in April.

“Misleading” photos of migrant children

While DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that the encounters at the border have been reduced to 1,830 people per day, on the other hand, representatives denounce that the administration is sending misleading messages with the publication of photographs.

On May 6, Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Texas, said that despite the images published by the federal government, the situation with migrant children has not improved.

Cuellar accused the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of trying to create the impression that the facility in Donna, Texas, was being emptied, when in reality the young migrants who had been placed there were simply moved to a nearby location.

“All they’re doing is moving kids from one tent to another and saying, ‘Oh, they’re not in Border Patrol custody’,” Cuellar said.
