“We had never seen such a lack of transparency from an administration about what is happening at the border,” says Alfonso Aguilar, former head of the U.S. Office of U.S. Citizenship and president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles.
Aguilar points out that the Head of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has repeated over and over again the lie that the border is closed and people are not coming in. Biden also presented the same idea in his first press conference.
However, Aguilar points out that when you look at the Department of Homeland Security statistics, last month 19,000 family units were detained, and 11,000 were able to enter the country. “That is not a small group,” he says.
In addition to denouncing this government’s lies regarding the immigration issue, the president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles affirms that the crisis taking place at the southern border has been created by the government itself.
It is true that migration patterns fluctuate and there are waves, but we have never seen it happen so fast and at this magnitude. Mayorkas already acknowledged that at this rate it will be the highest number of people arriving at the border in more than 20 years, and this is happening immediately after Biden becomes president.

From January to February alone, the number of migrants increased by 28%; for Aguilar it is clearly that they come because of Mayorka’s and Biden’s rhetoric, who in the campaign said “we have to receive them.”
In this interview, we discussed Biden’s actions and statements that have led to an immigration crisis, we also talk about the risk it means for the U.S. not to have border security and let thousands of people pass without due process.
Aguilar also highlights that encouraging illegal migration actually means encouraging human and child trafficking, as well as the abuse that migrants are victims of in their overland journeys to the United States. The interviewee recalls that the current government seems to have forgotten that in the U.S. there was a clear consensus on migration: illegal migration cannot be allowed.
Now Biden administration is saying people should not come, when the appropriate position has always been and should continue to be “never come illegally.”
