Bill Gates’ Silent Work with Joe Manchin to Raise Your Taxes

Bill Gates - Joe Manchin - Inflation Act

Leer en Español

Amid the inflation crisis, one of the world’s wealthiest men worked in the shadows to get Americans to pay their taxes for his climate business. Bill Gates spoke to Bloomberg and revealed that he secretly lobbied Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to convince Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) to support the notorious Inflation Reduction Act.

Bloomberg article —titled “Bill Gates and the Secret Push to Save Biden’s Climate Bill,” published in Bloomberg Green, a section of the media outlet focused on climate change— has no journalistic malice and, in fact, praises Bill Gates as it points out that the billionaire was a key player in changing Manchin’s mind, who was initially reluctant to vote in favor of the controversial bill criticized by the entire GOP.

According to the media outlet, once Manchin announced that he would not support the Inflation Reduction Act, Gates encouraged Schumer to go ahead with his efforts to get all the votes in the Senate to pass the bill.

The article reads that when the West Virginia senator “slammed the brakes on legislation to combat global warming,”  it was “when billionaire philanthropist and clean-energy investor Bill Gates got on the phone with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.”

“Those discussions gave him reason to believe the senator from West Virginia would come through for the climate — and he was willing to continue pressing the case himself until the very end,” the report continues.

Bloomberg also explained that “Gates started wooing Manchin and other senators who might prove pivotal for clean-energy policy in 2019 over a meal in Washington DC.”

It reads that “Gates was banking on more than just his trademark optimism about addressing climate change” and “he has quietly lobbied Manchin and other senators, starting before President Joe Biden had won the White House, in anticipation of a rare moment in which heavy federal spending might be secured for the clean-energy transition.”

It was also highlighted that Aquion, a Gates-backed company, would benefit from government subsidies under the Inflation Reduction Act.

Essentially, it was revealed that Gates worked, for years, in the shadows, almost as a lobbyist, to eventually get the federal government to approve enormous public spending in a sector where he has financial interests.

Bill Gates quietly worked to get Joe Manchin to agree to support the controversial Inflation Reduction Act, which, paradoxically, will not reduce inflation, increases government spending, and will make the IRS one of the largest agencies in the government. (EFE)

Bill Gates pushed to raise your taxes and worsen the economy

Although the Democrats have skillfully positioned this bill as a way to lower inflation, the reality is that it is nothing more than a new Democratic Party spending plan focused on health care and the environment. One that will also increase tax revenues.

Democrats have explained that this bill will bring in $730 billion in revenue and spend $430 billion over ten years. For example, the bill allocates $80 billion to the IRS, which will now add some 87,000 agents to its payroll, doubling the number of FBI and Customs and Border Protection agents.

According to Democrats, this huge increase in IRS agents will be necessary to detect millionaires allegedly seeking to evade taxes. However, a study by the Joint Committee on Taxation (non-partisan) revealed that only 4% to 9% of the money would come from those earning more than $500,000 a year.

In addition, according to the CBO, the expansion of the IRS workforce would potentially increase collection among the middle classes by $20 billion.

These studies have led critics, such as Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), to denounce that the Biden administration and Democrats are seeking to audit the average American and not necessarily the highest earners.

Also, although Democrats have said that the bill seeks to reduce inflation, the U-Penn economics faculty’s budget model estimates that the reduction in inflation will be virtually zero with this new spending plan. Even Senator Manchin himself admitted this fact.

In fact, the Tax Foundation explained that “by reducing long-run economic growth, this bill may actually worsen inflation by constraining the productive capacity of the economy.”

Gates in the spotlight

The Bloomberg article has not had a very positive effect on Bill Gates’ image. Quite the opposite, analysts and media personalities have questioned the tycoon harshly on social media.

” .@Bloomberg: Bill Gates lobbied @Sen_JoeManchin and other key Senate Dems for passage of socialist green scheme to increase taxes on everyday Americans to redistribute wealth to favored corporations and rich Americans to buy new cars,” tweeted Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.

Ben Shapiro, Editor Emeritus of the Daily Wire, primarily questioned the Democratic Party for allying with a billionaire to pass a bill that hurts the pockets of middle and lower-class Americans.

“Yes, the Party of the People is taking its cues from one of the richest people on earth — and in the process, refusing to explain to the American people how their magical new green bill will even lower climate change,” Shapiro wrote.
