Comedian and “Real Time” host Bill Maher defended former Disney star Gina Carano on Friday as he criticized cancel culture, The Daily Wire originally reported.

He said that Carano “made some Nazi analogy. Who doesn’t these days? You’re like Nazis’ is the new ‘I don’t like you.’ It’s always cool when Trump is the Nazi… By the way, can’t you work in Hollywood if you don’t believe in what we believe in? Yeah, in the ’50s, that’s exactly what the left complained about being told.”

He warned that cancel culture is real and growing rapidly. “It’s coming to a neighborhood near you. If you think it’s just for celebrities, no. In an era where everyone is online, everyone is a public figure. It’s like we’re all trapped in ‘The Hills Have Eyes … and Wifi.'” he said.

Carano was fired a few weeks ago from “The Mandalorian,” show on Disney+, a streaming platform, after making a comment on her social media that was called anti-Semitic and offensive by the Hollywood left. Her post was used by Disney to fire the actress, who had been under the spotlight for her conservative views that apparently clashed with the company’s progressive ideology.

The actress recently partnered with The Daily Wire and signed on to star in a movie.

Maher’s words join those of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and thousands of others who have expressed outrage at a firing they consider unfair and hypocritical.
