“He’s a white man in black face, and a very conservative-minded white man, at that,” is how Hawk Newsome, co-founder of Black Lives Matter in New York, criticized the mayor of the city over growing insecurity.

“Don’t listen to what Eric Adams says. He gives great press statements. He is a master of the press conference. Some kid dies he hugs their mother. He’s holding up sneakers and he is crying. What we elected him for, the city of New York, was to keep the city safe. This city is a war zone and he can’t stop it,” Newsome told Fox News.

Newsome also alerted the mayor and assured that BLM in the city is going to organize to “take control of our cities.” “The government has failed us for decades. Even when crime is low, we’re still dying. And we have to fix this problem ourselves because we believe that poverty is the mother of crime,” Newsome stressed.

Eric Adams’s administration faces a security crisis

The city faces a security crisis. El American previously explained that “while the City’s current mayor, Eric Adams, deploys a security plan aimed at fighting lawlessness, criminality continues to prevail. In February 2022 alone, major crimes in NYC increased nearly 60% compared to the same month in 2021. In March of this year, the city’s overall crime rate increased by 36.5%, compared to the same period last year.”

New York has also become one of the cities with the highest number of homeless people in the United States, which has directly contributed to the sense of danger and insecurity in the subway.
