More than 60,000 undocumented Mexican migrants were apprehended by border patrol in March, an unusually high number. According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, 172,331 undocumented migrants were intercepted in March. Of these, 62,325 were Mexicans.
In January and February, the number of Mexicans was 40,822 and 44,247, respectively.
An influx of undocumented Mexican migrants
Gustavo Banda Aceves, a pastor at the Ambassadors of Jesus Church, pointed out that they are currently sheltering 100 migrant families, including some undocumented Mexican migrants, most of whom are still waiting to reach the U.S. territory in search of a better life.
