The Biden-Harris administration’s open borders policy has led to a sharp increase in the number of immigrants at the border and an upsurge of migrant children abandoned and in serious humanitarian need.

A new video shows how infants are the greatest victims of the ongoing situation at the southern border. Following Biden’s promises to welcome more foreign children, increasing numbers of parents are sending them on a journey that puts them in danger with the intention of eventually reaching U.S. soil.

“I was coming with a group of people and they left me stranded, I don’t know where they are,” said a migrant child while crying inconsolably.

The boy was walking alone on the road east of the Rio Grande in Texas.

“I’m coming because if I don’t go where I’m going to go, maybe I’ll be robbed, kidnapped, or something. I’m scared,” the boy continued.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials estimate that more than 184,000 migrant children could cross the border this 2021.

Another heartbreaking video went viral last week when an audiovisual posted by El Paso border section chief Gloria Chavez showed unscrupulous men throwing two girls from the four-meter fence that marks the U.S.-Mexico border.

The increase in the number of children arriving abandoned at the border has been described as “alarming”, to the point where authorities claim that between 250 and 300 unaccompanied children cross daily.

Last Tuesday, the White House admitted that there are more children crossing the border than the government can currently cope with.

According to CBP figures, in February border authorities intercepted 9,457 minors at the border, a 60% increase over January (5,858).

This is due to parents paying to smuggle their children across the border in the hope that they will be taken into the custody of U.S. authorities, and subsequently handed over to relatives living in the U.S.

“A child on the road or at the border is a crisis because there is a person who is putting his or her life at risk and above all, a minor who has not decided to take that migratory route, but rather his or her parents,” Carolina Menjívar, director of the Honduran National Migration Institute (INM), told EFE.

Biden’s responsibility?

David Grantham, a national security and counterterrorism expert on border crises, attributed the severity of the immigration crisis to the Biden-Harris administration’s policies.

“This border crisis began because this administration reflexively treats the Trump administration’s policies as if they are inherently bad with little or no redeeming value,” Grantham told El American.

“In other words, if it comes from Trump, it must be bad,” he concluded. “That mentality is based on the false belief that they have a morally superior position when it comes to immigration.”
