On Thursday, the House of Representatives voted 230-199 to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia’s 14th Congressional district from her assignments on the House Budget and Education Committees.

Congressional Democrats launched the effort to remove Rep. Taylor Greene from her committee assignments after uncovered videos and posts by the Congresswoman show her calling for the death of Speaker Pelosi as well as promoting numerous conspiracy theories, including the idea that the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was a “false flag,” among others.

Earlier on Thursday, Rep. Taylor Greene issued an apology for showing support for the QAnon conspiracy theory (a theory with a sizable following who believe that the highest echelons of government are occupied by pedophiles who worship Satan) to no avail. QAnon believers formed a significant portion of the rioters who stormed the Capitol Building earlier this month.

The vote was decided on nearly partisan lines, with all Congressional Democrats and eleven Congressional Republicans voting to strip Rep. Taylor Greene of her committee assignments. The Republican members are Rep. Carlos Gimenez (FL-26); Rep. Chris Jacobs (NY-27); Rep. John Katko (NY-24); Rep. Young Kim (CA-39); Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16); Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11); Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27); Rep. Mario Diaz Balart (FL-25); Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04); Rep. Fred Upton (MI-06); and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01).

Rep. Gimenez and Rep. Salazar argued that the ideas Rep. Taylor Greene promoted were simply intolerable but that Congressional Democrats ought to act accordingly with members of their own party.
