Drug cartels on the southern border are recruiting American teenagers to smuggle migrants. They offer cash through social media, including TikTok, in exchange for helping smuggle illegal aliens into the United States.

A Fox News report revealed that criminal organizations offer more than $3,000 per trip for teenagers or young adults to help smuggle migrants arriving at the border.

Drug cartel’s methods to smuggle migrants

The modus operandi, according to the media outlet, is the posting of a “job” offer on platforms such as TikTok: “2 or 3 drivers are needed to pass through a checkpoint.”

The job consists of taking migrants through checkpoints controlled by drug cartels and then to a drop-off location where the migrants are then picked up by “someone trusted by the cartel” to subsequently transfer them to shelters at the border.

According to Fox News, everything indicates that the unaccompanied children are used as a “decoy” so that by throwing them from the wall, the adult migrants take advantage and manage to cross because they know that the Border Patrol is focused on rescuing the abandoned children.

Governors’ response to drug cartels and the border crisis

This Tuesday, April 20, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued an emergency declaration and announced that he will send the National Guard to the border to assist the border patrol agents with the drug cartels and border crisis.

In addition, to curb the increase in border crime, Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently asked the federal government in a letter to take “immediate action” against Mexican drug cartels by designating them as foreign terrorist organizations.

Abbott announced the expansion of Operation Lone Star to crack down on human trafficking of unaccompanied minors in the midst of a border crisis. (Twitter).

“They force women and children into sex and human trafficking, enriching themselves on the misery and enslavement of immigrants. They murder innocent people, including women and children,” he emphasized.

“They smuggle narcotics and weapons into the United States to finance their illegal enterprises,” the Republican governor wrote.

Abbott asserted that “it is time” for the feds to react appropriately and label Mexican criminal groups like Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel as foreign terrorist groups under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

“The sooner they do so, the sooner the United States will be able to secure the border and protect Americans from these deadly threats,” he stated.

There were 172,000 migrant apprehensions in March alone, but authorities estimate that there are more than a thousand entering illegally each day without being apprehended.
