Walter Ian Lipkin, the Columbia University professor who thanked Dr. Anthony Fauci for downplaying the possibility of the Wuhan lab theory of COVID-19 origin, is linked to the Chinese regime.
In a report, Fox News details that in the email Lipkin sent to Fauci he refers to “we” and then sent a message also to Chen Zhu, China’s former health minister, who is currently vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress.
“We deeply appreciate your efforts in steering and messaging,” Lipkin wrote to Fauci on May 5, 2020, a day after he cast doubt on the Wuhan lab theory.
Tied to China
The media outlet details that in late January 2020, Lipkin traveled back to China to study the coronavirus outbreak. He did so as part of a project for an institution that is subordinate to China’s Ministry of Education.
Lipkin has publicly ruled out that the virus could have come out of the Wuhan lab and in an interview with the Global Times (Chinese official media) praised the communist regime’s response to the pandemic. All this despite the regime’s cover-ups and lack of transparency in the handling of the disease.
For example, several of them show that he agreed to close schools despite evidence that children are infected at lower rates than adults and collaborated with the story to call the lab leak theory a conspiracy.
Given the controversy of the leaked messages, several politicians and journalists have called for Fauci’s resignation or, like Republican Senator Rand Paul, one of the main ones to question him in the Senate and expose his inconsistencies, his dismissal.
On the other hand, writer Candace Owens not only called for Fauci’s resignation, but demanded an investigation. Agreeing with Owens was host Charlie Kirk.
“”Firing Fauci does not go far enough. Anthony Fauci needs to be tried and put into federal prison. He ruined millions of lives via depression, bankruptcy, suicide” the writer said.
