“Intervention” has become a much-used word since the Cuban Uprising of July 11th began. Those determined to uphold the status quo in communist Cuba, are weaponizing the concept and misconstruing the full gravity of its meaning in actual application. Determined to keep the United States in a state of indifference and complicit inertia, enemies of Cuba’s liberation have launched a war of disinformation with bogus potential scenarios, to assure that Castro-Communism survives the biggest civil insurrection in all Cuban history. While all this is going on, China has been and continues its intervention in Cuba.
To call the wholesale human butchery, sadistic tortures, sham trials, unjust sentences, and ideologically geared pandemic policy in Cuba a “humanitarian” crisis, is to trivialize political genocide. The crimes against humanity that the Castroist regime is currently committing, is made possible by China’s intervention in Cuba. The calculated, lesser-evil gambit of allowing Cubans’ internet access by way of mobile electronic devices as late as 2018, was a tough call for the socialist dictatorship in Havana. The compelling need for capital to fund its lavish police state and sustain power, forced the tolerance of mechanisms that they knew would be used by the Cuban population to break the monopolistic hold on news and information. This is where Beijing stepped in.
The collapse of the Soviet Union and the Eastern-bloc satellites forced Cuban communism into a methodological revamping of its subversive strategies for the Western Hemisphere. The Sao Paulo Forum (SPF) gave birth to the new socialist dictatorial model. Venezuela was the first offspring. Venezuelan oil and wealth would be pillaged in the name of that mutated version of socialism which some would refer to as a “twenty-first century” type. Although really it was nothing less than the same twentieth century real socialism, but with greater cosmetic refurbishing and sophistry to conceal its identity and fool the free world.
Castro-Communism became the new Marxist-Leninist imperial force in the Americas. This was a role, after all, that the Cuban dictatorship knew well. It constituted since 1959, the centralized logistical and strategical base for all subversive Marxist campaigns in Latin America, with the U.S.S.R. being the financier. The death of Soviet communism gave birth to the SPF model and new wellsprings of wealth would have to be exploited. That’s when Venezuela as a satellite colony of Cuban communism stepped in.
Understanding, however, the limits of Venezuela’s natural resources and the related drug trafficking business, another source of income for continental socialism, Cuba began an aggressive rapprochement campaign with communist China and Vietnam. Given the economic and technological superiority of China, it was with the pioneer of the Asian communism prototype (Leninist state with a hybrid economy) that the Castro regime most courted.
Since 1993, high-ranking officials from communist China have visited the Island on over twenty-two occasions. In the last 26 years, Castro government representatives have made over twenty-five official state visits to China. The asymmetric war that Chinese communism has levied on the world, increased substantially once its rival, the Soviet Union, was out of the picture. The hegemonic ambitions of Beijing, strategically coincide with Cuba’s SPF socialist advancement scheme and convert China into a collusion force. So important, in fact, is Cuba to Beijing that it characterizes its relationship, relative to all the Latin American and Caribbean countries as one of “good brother, good comrade, good friend”, according to The Dialogue. Only Cuba has received this distinction.
Following the Obama Administration’s 2014 diplomatic reset with the Cuban communist dictatorship, China hastened its investments and proximity with the Island. The Chinese understand geography. Making Cuba a China-proxy would serve as a potential nemesis against the United States for its support of Taiwan. With a greater American diplomatic presence in Havana, Beijing saw obvious windfalls for additional espionage skirmishes from Cuban territory.
Chinese influence in Cuba has grown geometrically. China is Cuba’s largest trading partner and the principle technological developer, supplier, and logistical assistance provider. Cuban communism’s flirtation with technology, as limited and brutish as it is, has been accomplished only because of the guarantees that China gave the Castro regime, that it could open mobile internet data capability and still exercise social control. The barbarian crackdown during and following the epic July 11th popular uprising, put China’s sinister repressive technology to work.
Chinese socialism, long a powerhouse in genocidal expertise, employed state-owned and parastate companies like Huawei, ZTE, and TP-Link to develop Cuba’s telecommunications infrastructure. These institutions serve not just to bolster China economically but penetrate insidiously into all realms for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The whole telecommunications system was Chinese built expressly for the reasoning of being able to selectively black out internet and phone coverage, identify rebel zones and actors, and even single out deviant regime generals that may have had a change of heart. The Made in China label has bloodied the entire Cuban territory.
Positions of non-intervention to the humanitarian-based, military consideration of the use, or threat of use, of American forces to help avoid the ongoing political genocide in Cuba, assist in a popular liberation rebellion in a country held captive by a sworn enemy of America, are blatantly cynical and treacherous. The United States possesses sufficient intelligence which fully validates the fact that communist Cuba is the imperial force that directs all left-wing subversive activity, which includes, but is limited to, the Maduro, Ortega, and Morales’ regimes, Colombia’s FARC and ELN, Brazil’s Worker’s Party, Argentina’s Kirchnerism, as well as an amiable relationship with the Mexican drug cartels. Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Syria are other foreign powers that along with China, intervene constantly and historically in Cuban affairs. Wake up America! The time to intervene is now.
