Cities bordering Mexico will sue the Biden administration over the immigration crisis that caused the largest influx of undocumented immigrants in the last 20 years.

The Texas county said it will join neighboring counties to sue the Democratic administration and push for action on the southern border.

Val Verde County Commissioner Beau Nettleton called the situation “unforgivable” and said the Biden administration is not following the law.

“I don’t have the answer as to whether a lawsuit solves this problem, but it draws attention to this problem,” Nettleton said. “They took the same oath of office that I did, which was to uphold the constitution…they need to comply with that oath and do their job and stop this mess,” he added.

“We’ve talked about immigration reform for as long as I can remember. Both parties have had control of Washington at one point or another over the last 20 years, and we have failed to do anything about it other than create the mess that we have today,” he said.

“I am all for people coming into this country legally – that’s what built this country,” Nettleton said. “This is not a legal process, this is not the right way to do it,” he said.

Florida also sues Biden over immigration crisis

On Tuesday, September 12, the state of Florida sued Biden’s administration, claiming that its immigration policy is “illegal.”

In addition to the lawsuit, Governor Ron DeSantis signed an order prohibiting state agencies from assisting in the relocation of unauthorized immigrants arriving in the state.

The lawsuit filed by Attorney General Ashley Moody claims the federal immigration policy will cost the state millions of dollars and hurt Florida.

“While some of the migrants arriving have legitimate asylum claims, many do not. Some are gang members and drug traffickers taking advantage of the crisis at the border, as evidenced by the impressive amount of fentanyl seized at the border this year,” the lawsuit states.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that there were 208,887 migrant apprehensions in August, a 317 % increase over the same month but in 2020. The situation has gotten out of control, but in the ruling party camp today they do not seem interested in the lives of migrants.
