CNN has finally decided to suspend Chris Cuomo as their brazenness was already embarrassing. For months, both the popular network and several other major media outlets turned a blind eye to the fact that the network’s infamous star had prepped brother Andrew Cuomo—the former disgraced governor of New York—to defend himself against multiple allegations of sexual harassment. At least this was what was known and it was quite serious.
This fact, which was already known by many, was confirmed on Monday by explosive reports from the NY Attorney General’s Office, revealing that the anchor used his influence to communicate with other journalists and figure out what new accusations would come against his brother. Similarly, the anchor spoke with high elected officials to dig for information about the investigation. After these shocking revelations, CNN finally decided to “indefinitely suspend” him.
This case is yet another clear example of the left’s hypocrisy. CNN journalists scream to the four winds that they are impartial and that they supposedly defend women’s rights. But what happens when it’s revealed that their darling anchor helped his disgraced brother battle legitimate claims of sexual harassment? You guessed it: Nothing. Dead silence.
But why on earth would CNN and its journalists torch the very man who averaged 959,000 viewers in this year’s third quarter? To those of you who did not know, please understand that the alleged “ethics” of the leftist mainstream media, including CNN, is just a front to quite literally gain viewers.
Even amid CNN’s suspension of Cuomo over an issue they had shamelessly ignored, it must be pointed out that the coverage of these shocking revelations leave much to be desired. There are extensive paragraphs quoting the younger Cuomo that he only wanted to “help” his brother—the sexual harasser of women—as anyone would do. They falsely claim that he was only seeking the truth. Rather than offering impartial coverage, the mainstream media seems to attempt to exonerate the presenter but most importantly CNN.
