New York police seized 50 kilograms of cocaine stamped with “CR7,” the nickname of Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, the city prosecutor’s office said on Thursday.

The drug bales were seized in an operation carried out last March 29, in which two people were arrested and a gun and $200,000 in cash were also confiscated, according to a statement from the New York City District Attorney’s Office Narcotics Bureau.

The alleged traffickers, identified as Christopher Jones and Wykim Williams, kept the money and cocaine in a luxury apartment located in a residential complex in the Jamaica neighborhood in the borough of Queens.

“Found in the apartment were 50 intact packages of cocaine stamped ‘CR7,’ which were located in a closet. CR7 is the alias of the popular Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo,” the statement said, noting that the house also contained material used for the distribution of narcotics on a large scale, such as a weight, money counting machines and vacuum-seal bags.

According to the special narcotics prosecutor, Bridget Brennan, the cocaine stash had a market value of two million dollars.

This is not the first time that security forces have seized packages of cocaine printed with the Juventus footballer’s first name.

On November 26, the Nicaraguan Army’s Naval Force reported intercepting eight packages containing 340 packets of cocaine, mostly marked with the initials and number “CR7,” in the northwest Pacific.

The drugs were seized on Wednesday in the Cosigüina Peninsula sector, in the department of Chinandega, in northwest Nicaragua, according to the report from the Pacific Naval District.
