In a strange and controversial video that has already been deleted, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Choir sang a song in which they say how they will “convert” children. The audiovisual material has generated great controversy, especially for lyrics in which they affirm the indoctrination of minors.

Supposedly a satire, the song mocks the fear of parents and expresses how parents can do nothing in the face of the agendas that the LGBT community wants to push within the education system.

The lyrics for each verse get stranger and more twisted: “You think we’re sinful, you fight against our rights, you say we all lead lives you can’t respect. But you’re scared, you think we’ll corrupt your children if our agenda goes unchecked. Funny, just this once, you’re right.”

The song continues, “We will convert your children, it happens little by little, quietly and subtly and you will hardly notice, you can keep them away from disco, warn them about San Francisco, make them wear pleated pants, we don’t care…we will convert your children…we will make them tolerant and fair.”

“Just like you’re worried, they’ll change their friend group, you won’t approve of where they go at night (to protests). And you’ll be disgusted when they start finding out things online that you kept out of their sight (as information).”

Then, the singers of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus enter a rare phase of the song in which they repeat theatrically “we’re coming for your children, we’re coming for them, we’re coming for your children.”

The Gay Men’s Choir made the video private shortly after uploading it. Its members issued a statement blaming conservative media for denouncing such a song. “It is obvious the tongue-in-cheek humor is lost on many,” they said, according to CBN News.

Unlike the San Francisco Gay Chorus, other initiatives of the same type have reached out more strongly to children. For example, drag queens singing about LGBT pride on major children’s channels such as Nickelodeon.

  1. It’s this in-your-face, down your throat (no pun intended) philosophy that alienates people with regard to the gay community. It has now gone from equal rights to special rights. If you want tolerance and respect then live your lives without being caricatures.

  2. This article feels incomplete, as if you left out the rest of your point, if point there was. The video wasn’t a joke as that’s exactly what they’re doing and most just go along with it. These are our children not adults who can make mature decisions. Not only that but if you’re born gay, whatever, why recruit? And if you’re gay or lesbian those are binary which disqualifies all the rest of the alphabet members.

  3. Whoever thought that humor will not fail spectacular is not very smart.
Parents are famous for there lack of rational thought as soon they even perceive there kids threatend, and funny as it is, you need rational thinking to understand humor.
You can write an peer reviewed paper that lays logical out that the song was tongue in cheek, parents will to consider it funny, it was an from an PR point of view shooting your own foot.
