Critical Race Theory Arrives at the UN, Thanks to Socialist UN Chief Michelle Bachelet

Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights, announced on Monday June 28^th that “systemic racism needs a systemic response.” The UN human rights chief since 2018 added clarity to her unsubstantiated claims by saying “The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and other civil society groups led by people of African descent have provided grassroots leadership through listening to communities.”

While the position expressed by the Chilean Socialist politician and daughter of a military official from Marxist president Salvador Allende’s government should surprise no one, it does make evident where the communist identity politics war has broadened a new offensive: the UN. 

Following the death of George Floyd, Bachelet requested a report from the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) she chairs. Labeled, “Promotion and protection of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Africans and of people of African descent against excessive use of force and other human rights violations by law enforcement officers” (Report), the UNHRC findings wholly accept the epistemological assumptions that underlie Marxist Critical Race Theory. Consistent with the postmodernist narrative that knowledge is culturally constructed and “lived” experience is the ultimate source of “truth”, the report is flawed and permeated with ideological-driven laundered precepts. 

The basis for the wild claim of “systemic racism” consists of “consultations with over 340 individuals, mostly of African descent; over 110 written contributions, including with States; on a review of publicly available material; and on additional consultations with relevant experts.” The methodological mechanics in the report is inherently flawed. The expressed opinions that validate the findings all part from an abidance of CRT dogma. There was no consideration for antithetical and critical posits. Intellectually, the report is non-sense. Morally, its result is reprehensible, as it takes up Neo-Marxism’s (cultural Marxism) fraudulent grievance assertion.

In addition to the ideologically tainted opinion pieces by compromised “experts” —who intellectually steward the analysis, the unscientific and bizarre methodology for carrying out a serious or quasi-serious study— is riddled with other banalities. The Bachelet report deposits great substance to its allegation of investigating “190 deaths”, throughout the world, of blacks by law enforcement, which they barefacedly state “are rarely held accountable for human rights violations and crimes against people of African descent.” This postulation is recklessly irresponsible and establishes no basis for avowals of “systemic racism.”

Out of the 190 deaths the report examined, are the cases of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. As far as the example of Floyd is concerned, charges that “impunity” against the police officers involved are absurd and cynical. In fact, a case can be made that mob rule prevailed and justice was underserved. Floyd at the time of his apprehension resisted arrest, was high on illegal drugs, had coronavirus, and possessed an extensive criminal past (warning flags to any law enforcement officer). The incident is most regrettable, but to cite “systemic racism” as the cause root for what happened is a pompous insult to anyone’s intelligence. Taylor’s case is no less a flagrant attack on common sense. 

Taylor’s apartment was used to traffic drugs. In the middle of a lawful drug operation sting, police officers responded to her boyfriend’s belligerent attack on them and was fatally shot. This is lamentable, but not racist, nor an exhibition of police brutality. In a country of over 328 million people (USA), the fact that in 2019 the total of nine unarmed blacks died in the hands of a white police officer, blows away any merit-based contention of racial abuse by law enforcement. Yet, Bachelet’s pro-Marxist CRT report holds these two cases as examples of America’s “systemic racism” and “excessive use of force and other human rights violations by law enforcement officers” (as reads part of this absurd report’s title). 

UNHRC’s infamous study supporting a communist Critical Theory offshoot like CRT, tags along with its insidious recipes for the systemic dismantlement of capitalist-based, republican modes of governance. Who better than propagandist Treva Lindsey, a labeled “scholar” of BLM in Ohio, to echo the UN study.

The BLM apologist said after the public announcement of the Bachelet report, [we are] “pleasantly encouraged by the naming of systemic global-level racism and systemic racism that needs to be addressed…I think financial compensation is a very important and integral part of reparative structures, but we also have to talk about the systems that remain in place that are part of the legacy of slavery, colonialism, and other forms of global white supremacy.”
