Biotechnology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy said in a recent interview that woke culture is being used geopolitically by China to weaken its main enemies, including the U.S.

During his participation in Fox and Friends, the author of the book “Woke Inc.” affirmed that the Chinese regime has managed to be exempt from criticism and “exceptionally out of bounds” in the mainstream media, who remain silent regarding the Chinese responsibility in the pandemic.

For Vivek Ramaswamy, woke culture, on which political correctness is based, has manifested itself in a double standard that allows new strains of COVID-19 to be referred to as “English variant,” “Brazil variant,” “South African variant,” but does not allow it to be called “Wuhan virus.”

“The Zika virus, the Marburg virus, and Ebola, were all named after the places of origin. In fact, MERS stands for the Middle Eastern respiratory virus. That’s an older coronavirus,” Ramaswamy said.

But, faced with some Western media that refuse to call the virus by its origin, Ramaswamy considers that this phenomenon occurred because “China has mastered the art of using wokeness as a geopolitical tool against the United States.”

For the businessman, China has used woke culture to weaken U.S. morale and international discourse. In this regard, he cites the occasion when Xi Jinping was questioned about the human rights situation by European leaders, Ramaswamy recalls that Xi spoke of “Black Lives Matter”.

“[He used it] as a way of saying the United States is no better. His top diplomat in Alaska last month falsely claimed that black Americans are being slaughtered. And he expects the U.S. to do better on human rights,” the businessman commented.

In the past, the American businessman has spoken out against the attacks that big companies (especially Big Tech) have carried out against citizens.

“We’re seeing it through this burst of big government-big business duopoly —Woke Industrial Complex is what I like to call it—, and I think that that’s the big danger for everyday liberty.”

“The First Amendment has limits, but basic political speech is what we’re seeing being censored today.” The author also asserted that the “Suppression of dissent breeds terror.”

On another occasion, Vivek Ramaswamy denounced the intentions of large corporations such as Coca-Cola or Delta (known for promoting the woke culture) to pressure the state of Georgia to change its laws.

“We shouldn’t want to live in a corporatocracy. The whole point is to live in a democracy where everyone has an equal voice. Not the CEO of Delta Airlines or Coca-Cola having a disproportionate voice and telling legislators what to do.”
