New York Attorney General Letitia James confirmed that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed several women, many of whom were his own staffers.

Following a thorough investigation by independent investigators hired by the attorney general, James concluded in a report that the allegations against Cuomo related to sexual misconduct are true.

The investigation included interviews with 179 people and found that Cuomo harassed current and former staff members from 2013 to 2020. More than 74,000 documents, emails, texts, and images were also reviewed as evidence during the investigation.

After nearly five months, investigators concluded that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed several women, including former and current state employees, by engaging in unwanted groping, kissing and hugging, and making inappropriate comments.

While the governor denied the most serious allegations, investigators found that he did so by offering “general denials” or had a “lack of recollection as to specific incidents.”

What else does the report say?

“This is a sad day for New York because independent investigators have concluded that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and, in doing so, broke the law,” James said in a statement.

“I am grateful to all the women who came forward to tell their stories in painstaking detail, enabling investigators to get to the truth. No man — no matter how powerful — can be allowed to harass women or violate our human rights laws, period,” she added.

At least 10 women denounced the New York governor for sexual harassment or misconduct, and the testimony of the former assistant at the mansion was described as the most serious. One of the accusers detailed the alleged groping by Cuomo.

These allegations began when Lindsey Boylan, who worked as an assistant to Cuomo, published a letter in which she recounted how “bullying” within his administration was “so pervasive” that it was “tolerated” and “expected.”

Cuomo denies all allegations

After learning the report’s conclusion, Governor Andrew Cuomo denied all the allegations; he noted that “the facts are very different from what is described” and added: “I am 62 years old, that’s not who I am.”

Paradoxically, in 2013 spoke about sexual harassment and said he was in favor of “zero tolerance” policies against harassers.
