D.C. Dems Now Agree with Abbott: Biden Isn’t Fixing Border Crisis

DEMOCRATIC politicians in Washington, D.C. hold Texas Governor Greg Abbott responsible for an alleged crisis generated in the city after buses were sent with illegal migrants.

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has repeatedly called for the deployment of the National Guard while describing the influx of immigrants as a “humanitarian crisis” while D.C. Council member Brianne Nadeau blamed the governors of Texas and Arizona for creating “the crisis” and claimed they turned D.C. into a border city.

For a little more than a year, the southern border has been facing a serious immigration crisis, where Texas alone receives at least 4,000 illegal migrants daily. This is a truly problematic situation that has endangered national security.

The crisis is such that the governors of Texas and Arizona decided to get Biden’s attention by sending busloads of migrants to those cities, pledging to protect them.

But now that D.C. is receiving a tiny number of illegal migrants, Democratic officials are holding press conferences to ask for help and even declaring a “public emergency.” For the first time, they agree with Abbott: the federal government has not responded to the massive influx of migrants.

“The governors of Texas and Arizona have created this crisis. And, the federal government has not stepped up to assist the District of Columbia,” Nadeau told reporters.

“Regardless of the federal response – which I think has been lacking in some respects– that the District of Columbia would continue to work with partners to advance what we need and ensure our systems in D.C. are not broken by a crisis that is certainly not of our making,” Bowser added in declaring an emergency in the city.

Paradoxically, the desperate help requested by Democrats from sanctuary cities is the same help that Abbott has been asking for since the massive migratory flow began, without obtaining any response or solution to the situation. While New York and Washington have received between them some 10,000 migrants, Texas receives some 200,000 each month.

“It’s just interesting to see some of these mayors who have invited and have created sanctuary cities to suddenly start complaining that they’ve got a few thousand immigrants when we’re dealing with millions,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said.

Until more than a month ago, no Democratic authority had echoed the serious immigration crisis facing the country at the southern border, yet after Abbott decided to draw attention by sending migrants to New York, D.C. Democrats admit the migrant tragedy and ask for federal funds.

U.S. reaches new record number of illegal migrants

According to Border Patrol figures, the United States once again reached an all-time high in the detention of illegal migrants. The new number is 2,250,000 during the first ten months of the fiscal year 2022 and the figure is expected to rise sharply by the end of the year in October. The previous record was 1,956,519.

Authorities expect the number to reach three million migrants because there are still two months left before the end of the fiscal year, an alarming figure, as there is a huge lack of control over who enters the country.
