COVID-19 Cases and Hospitalizations Decreasing in Florida

The state of Florida lowered its number of daily cases of covid-19 this weekend, for the first time after four weeks on the rise, while the number of hospitalizations showed a slight drop, according to official reports released Monday.

This Sunday, 13,022 confirmed cases were reported in Florida, while on Saturday there were 17,690, according to data released today by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which shows a slowdown in infections.

Hospitalizations have also begun to decline slightly in Florida, which in recent days has led the nation in covid-19 admissions nationwide.

According to the Florida Hospital Association (FHA), there are 15,488 people hospitalized diagnosed with covid-19 this Monday, compared to last Friday when the same entity reported 16,163.

Of all the people admitted to medical centers in Florida, 3,494 remain in intensive care (ICU), according to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
