How the Left Weaponized the Pandemic to Their Political Advantage

The far-left saw the COVID-19 global pandemic as the perfect opportunity to centralize power through executive overreach and executive police powers. The abuse of these police powers is distorting our form of government, disregarding checks and balances, and propelling our country into an unprecedented path of no return.

The U.S. Constitution and election laws were recklessly violated in the name of a global health pandemic. Few fought back as they feared that they would be accused of downplaying a serious pandemic. The government paid close attention, and now, they are back with the same strategy to push for a radical climate change agenda, anti-gun rights laws, and anti-police reforms led by the Marxist BLM—all in the name of health epidemics and pandemics.

Systemic Racism” and Police Brutality as an Alleged Public Health Crisis

In 2020, The ACLU issued a report titled “The Other Epidemic: Fatal Police Shootings in the Time of COVID-19,” claiming that there is an “epidemic of police violence” that “disproportionately” targets Black Americans. In a Washington Post article, Osagie K. Obasogie wrote that “police killing black people is a pandemic, too,” comparing our great men and women in blue to the deadly COVID-19 virus. Obasogie ambiguously argues that “state violence is a public health crisis.” Similarly, Len Strazewski wrote for the American Medical Association (“AMA”) that “police brutality is a matter of public health.” Not tackling this pandemic, according to the AMA, would lead to “unnecessary and costly injury,” and ultimately “death.”

The Partnership of Academia and the Democratic Party on Pushing their Agenda

Left-wing academia has joined this movement too, with Harvard claiming in an article that “racism is a public health crisis.” In the same article, Harvard celebrated Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)’s introduction of a bill that seeks to abolish “racism” in “public health.” Ironically, the same bill admits that the federal government doesn’t have “enough information” on the alleged systemic racism in public health, therefore they are calling for the creation of a “National Center for Anti-Racism,” which would give the government more vaguely defined bureaucratic authority to enforce their woke, progressive agenda. In practice, the center would be under the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”).

The CDC, however, has already called for reforms of its own to “confront the systems and policies” that have given a “rise to racial and ethnic health inequities,” ultimately claiming that “racism is a serious threat to the public’s health.” Similarly, The Lancet journal, through Professor of Black Studies at Birmingham City University Kehinde Andrews, featured an article titled “Racism is the public health crisis.”

It’s hard not to see a trend here.

Gun Violence Epidemic”

The Biden administration issued a fact sheet highlighting their actions to curb the so-called “gun violence public health epidemic.” The Washington Post quickly celebrated the demagogic talking point, publishing a piece titled “finally, a president takes America’s epidemic of gun violence.” In the same press release–which issued a handful of potentially unconstitutional executive orders that will ultimately limit your freedoms–the Biden White House took pride in saying that they “will not wait for Congress to act.”

These orders, as expected, actively limit American’s constitutionally guaranteed freedom to defend themselves with weapons. This administration’s goal, based on its own anti-gun policies and campaign promises, is to take guns away from Americans. Those who refuse are perpetuating a health epidemic and causing death.

Using Emergency Powers to Tackle Climate Change Emergency”

Climate change, too, has allegedly contributed to the “skyrocketing rates of infectious disease,” at least according to ProPublica’s Abrahm Lustgarten. Lustgarten argues that “ignoring” climate change and pandemics would be a “dangerous delusion.” It’s almost impossible to ignore the pattern here: pick a political agenda, add “epidemic” or “pandemic” to the talking point, and label those who oppose it as anti-public health or even as anti-human.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is putting pressure on Biden to declare a “climate emergency,” which would unlock unprecedented executive powers to solve the alleged issue of climate change. These executive powers will hurt the U.S. with costly and ineffective plans.

These enhanced executive powers, the Washington Post explained, would include “land management and military deployment.” But why would the federal government need the deployment of our great military to tackle climate change? Can the military stop any potential change in climate? They can’t. The government can, however, use the military to stop citizens from potentially polluting and carrying on the “climate emergency.”

Executive Powers and Lawlessness of the 2020 Election

This newly found technique, if practiced consistently and successfully, will deliver a major blow to our country’s checks and balances, with one party left standing.  It happened during the 2020 Presidential Election: laws that protect absentee ballots signatures were ignored, counting centers were consolidated while simultaneously limiting poll workers, millions of unsolicited absentee ballots were mailed, the chain of custody of ballots was deleted, states were prevented from fulfilling their constitutional duty to protect their elections. All in the name of the pandemic.

Those who dared to call for investigations or audits were blatantly threatened with criminal investigations by the state, as it happened in 2020 with the Michigan attorney general against local and state officials.

Path of No Return

COVID-19 was used to pass some of the most radical, leftist policies that our country has witnessed. Executive power (state and federal) has increased to dangerous levels and our courts allowed it. With this growing trend, this never-ending avalanche of state emergencies will crush our civil liberties. They will argue that there is an anti-women choice epidemic and a capitalism emergency. They will label any dissenters as anti-health “radicals.” This, among other techniques, will lead to a complete centralization of power and shift from our checks and balances. If we allow our federal government to take this path, our country’s Constitution and government structure will be unrecognizable.
