On Sunday 18th, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called on Joe Biden’s administration to put the interests of the nation and Americans first, while criticizing the president’s policy toward China.

“We, our citizens, we are not just a cog in some globalist machine, we have to put the nation’s interests first, and we have to put the American people first,” DeSantis said during his speech at Turning Point USA 2021, held in Tampa, Florida.

In that sense, he stated that families should not be at the mercy of “corrupt unions” when it comes to their children’s education. “We sign the largest expansion of school choice, anywhere in the United States” he said.

In June, the Florida Board of Education approved a rule advanced by DeSantis to ban the teaching of political ideologies such as communism and so-called Critical Race Theory.

The governor has been consistent in pointing out that Florida’s education system exists to create opportunities for American children. While meeting with the young people attending the event, the Republican urged conservatives to take action to prevent the advancement of the woke agenda.

“As we look what’s going on in our country and we look forward to the battles ahead. I think it’s important that we lay down the marker about what we need to be doing as conservatives and many of us as as Republicans, we cannot, we will not go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear” DeSantis stressed.
