Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, has died on Thursday at the age of 73. A statement from Trump was posted to Truth Social.
Donald Trump said in a message on Truth Social that he was “very saddened to inform all of those that love her, of which there are many,” that she “passed away at her home in New York City.”
Ivana Trump is the mother of Donald Trump’s children Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr.
“She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
In a statement to The Daily Beast, her family called the former model “an incredible woman—a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.”
“Ivana Trump was a survivor,” they went on. “She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children & 10 grandchildren.”
The 73-year-old Ivana Trump died of a heart attack according to a local ABC 7 report.
“Police responded to a call of a person in cardiac arrest at 10 East 64th Street on the Upper East Side at 12:40 p.m.,” the channel reported. “The death is not considered suspicious, and officials say she appears to have died of natural causes.”
“Still, the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will investigate to determine the cause and manner of death,” the report added.
