Dr. Anthony Fauci has recently been in the eye of the storm after a series of leaked emails revealed the inconsistency of the measures taken in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and the cover-up of the COVID-19 Wuhan lab leak theory.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases responded to the wave of criticism he has been receiving and assured that everything that is currently happening around his figure is “anti-scientific.”

The Rachel Maddow Show host asked Fauci “are you actually worried about this new sort of re-upping of attacks on you?”

Dr. Fauci continued in his attempt to delegitimize real and valid criticisms of his performance during the pandemic and argued that the attacks come because he is “a public figure.”

“It is what it is. I’m a public figure. I’m going to take the arrows and the slings. But they’re just — they’re fabricated, and that’s just what it is.”

The epidemiologist also asserted that the efforts that inspired the development of the coronavirus vaccine are currently helping in a remarkable way to finally develop an effective HIV vaccine.

Maddow labeled as “right-wing conspiracy theories” the thesis of genetic manipulation of the virus and its escape from the lab – information that Fauci himself received and concealed, according to his emails.

“This theory that the virus was purposefully, diabolically created and released onto the world […] knowing where this virus came from, would it help on the development of a vaccine and a final solution?”

Subsequently, Fauci responded that it serves to prevent the same catastrophe from happening again. However, he considered that such research is being approached in a “distorted” way, through attacks against him, which, according to him, “an attack on science.”
