Elon Musk claimed Monday that the progressive media is covering up information they don’t want to be known and accused them of calling Republicans Nazis. Musk’s comments were made in a thread posted on Twitter.
“Same org that covered up Hunter Biden laptop story, had Harvey Weinstein story early & killed it & built Matt Lauer his rape office. Lovely people,” was one of Elon Musk’s messages.
Musk’s other message was a direct response to a video showing NBC commentator Mehdi Hasan criticizing the purchase of Twitter. Hasan said Musk will put the digital platform at the service of what he called the “far-right.” And he spoke of a “Nazi” faction within the Republican Party.
In response to Hasan’s statements, Musk only tweeted, “NBC basically saying Republicans are Nazis…”
Attacks on Elon Musk
Hasan’s attacks come after Elon Musk bought Twitter following a day of negotiations with the social network’s shareholder board, which accepted the Tesla CEO’s $44 billion bid for the social network.
“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said at the press conference following the announcement of the purchase.
Twitter’s current CEO, Parag Agrawal, after the news of the purchase was confirmed said, “Twitter has a purpose and relevance that impacts the entire world. Deeply proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important.”
