Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Space X, responded with a blunt refusal to an email from The Washington Post asking him to comment on an article about his future with the company. The response went viral.
The Post article notes Musk’s grueling schedule, which ranges from commuting from his home in Southern California, the Tesla plant in Northern California, a new factory in Austin, Texas, and the SpaceX launch facility on the Texas Gulf Coast. The Post then quotes anonymous “critics” who claim that Musk’s focus on Space X and other companies has allowed Tesla’s quality to “fall victim.”
The text also mentions critics who question his business moves and see potential outside lawsuits over the company’s mismanagement.
“In response to emails seeking comment, Musk responded only: ‘Give my regards to your puppet master,'” the reporter noted.
The comment was apparently directed at Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who owns The Washington Post, as noted in the article.
The Tesla CEO usually responds in a direct manner to messages he receives.
