With Elon Musk as Twitter Owner, Will Republicans Have an Advantage in the Midterms?

Leer en Español

Elon Musk completed the acquisition of Twitter and with it the possibility that finally the Republican Party will not be affected by censorship in the middle of the election campaign for the midterms next Tuesday, November 8.

Midterms are held every two years and their name originates from the fact that they are held in the middle of the presidential term. In these elections, the full House of Representatives and 1/3 of the Senate are renewed. In turn, several important states hold elections to elect their governor and other local officials.

During the last elections, leaders of the Republican Party were victims of censorship and blocking on Twitter which could have affected the election results. Likewise, the social network censored sensitive information related to Hunter Biden, qualifying it as disinformation; an action that might have helped Biden to win the elections.

Now that Musk owns Twitter, there is a high probability that without such censorship, the Republican Party has a better chance to win the midterm elections.

Midterms often serve as a verdict on how the president is doing and, typically, the party occupying the White House tends to lose seats, something that worries the president whose approval rating has been below 50% since August 2021.

How Twitter helped Biden win the election

TIME magazine, which published “the secret story” behind Joe Biden’s victory, also confirmed that Big Tech was behind and planned the censorship.

The magazine confirmed what conservatives denounced for a while: with censorship and under the plea of enforcing the rules, Big Tech played in favor of the left to achieve the defeat of Donald Trump.

According to the report, leftist leaders pressured Big Tech managers to implement censorship.

A video of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was leaked showing that the massive censorship on Twitter was planned.

“This is going to be much bigger than one account, and it’s going to last much longer than this day,” Dorsey said in the video, referring to the blocking of former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
