On Sunday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, blasted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, following the arrival of the second busload of illegal immigrants to his city. “It’s horrible when you think about what the governor is doing,” Adams said.

In addition, the Democrat claimed that many of the migrants did not know they had been sent to the Big Apple. “They were forced on the bus with the understanding that they were going to other locations that they wanted to go to, and when they tried to explain they were not allowed to do so,” he said.

Eric Adams promotes illegal migration

Adams has assured on several occasions that his government is willing to receive illegal migrants despite the impact this situation could have on public services and society. However, in order to take care of these migrants, he has asked for federal funds.

Last week, Adams acknowledged that the public system will be affected in his state. He explained that, mainly, the arrival of these migrants will cause an impact on schools and health services. “Our schools are going to be impacted. Our healthcare system is going to be impacted. Our infrastructure is going to be impacted.,” Adams said in an appearance before the media.

The migrant bus arrived in New York at the request of Governor Abbott who has insisted that orderly migration must be promoted and that his administration will not deal with the arrival of citizens who do so illegally. “In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” Abbott said in a statement on Friday.

According to the latest reports, New York is facing the arrival of hundreds of migrants from Latin American countries. The Daily Mail detailed that “There are currently 48,000 housed in shelter around New York City.  Adams described his city as being ‘overburdened.” However, the mayor stressed that they are not against the arrival of these citizens.
