“Friends” reunion will premiere on May 27 on the HBO Max platform, more than a year later than planned due to delays in filming caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The six stars of the series, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, will participate in the special program, which will also include guest appearances by Lady Gaga, Malala Yousafzai, David Beckham and Justin Bieber.

The band BTS, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lenon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler and Reese Witherspoon will also participate.

HBO Max released a half-minute preview on Thursday in which the six stars of the series are seen walking around Warner Bros. studios, where the format was filmed.

Media reported that each of the actors was paid between 2.5 and 3 million dollars to participate in this reunion.

Although millions of “Friends” fans have been yearning for years for new episodes of the series, this special reunion would not be a fictional episode as such, but rather a retrospective program with interviews with the cast.

The sitcom, which premiered on September 22, 1994, closed in 2004 ten successful seasons after 236 episodes.

But the series remains a phenomenon for countless fans around the world who are still willing to watch, again and again in reruns or digital platforms, the New York stories of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross.

Until 2020, “Friends” was broadcast on Netflix, but Warner did not hesitate to shell out more than $400 million last summer to bring it back and integrate it as one of the diamonds of HBO Max, where it can be seen since last year.
