Ethereum, the second most widely used cryptocurrency after bitcoin, surpassed the $1,600 barrier on Wednesday and set a new all-time high.
The cryptocurrency of the decentralized network Ethereum has touched $1,617, although it has subsequently lost steam and now hovers around $1,609.
In Tuesday’s trading, ether reached $1,540, at the time the highest level in its history.
Ether had already reached a record price on January 25th when it reached $1,475.
Bitcoin, the most widely used cryptocurrency, also maintains its upward trend and is hovering around S36,985.
However, Bitcoin is still far from the $41,981 it reached on January 8th, its all-time high.
