Shannon Brandt, a 41-year-old man who admitted to hitting 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson with his car because of his conservative views, was released Tuesday on $50,000 bail.
Last week, Brandt was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Information on his release was reported by various journalists, including Town Hall’s Mia Cathell.

According to several media reports, it was being investigated whether Brandt was intoxicated when he ran over Ellingson with his truck. According to court reports quoted by local media, the man admitted that the murder had been “politically motivated.”
Speech against conservative American
The situation was generated just weeks after Joe Biden’s radical speech in which he attacked members of the Republican Party, who support President Donald Trump, and accused them of being extremists.
“Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the foundations of our Republic,” Biden said emphatically.
As a recently released poll explained, Biden’s speech divided Americans. At least, .that’s how most citizens perceive it. “Sixty percent of respondents said Biden’s speech divided the country, while 40 percent said the speech united the nation and moved it forward. Another 56 percent opposed the speech, while 44 percent said they supported it,” explained the Harvard CAPS-Harris study shared exclusively with The Hill.
